Finally found the entrance to The Saint Paul!
The Cathedral was under renovation, but we were still allowed to walk around |
The Ceiling
Another view...
The scaffolding
where workers traverse to restore the Cathedral to its original condition...
Now the adventure begins... we will now attempt to climb the stairs leading to the top of the cathedral...
Smiling Philip (2 minutes after the beginning of the climb) |
Still smiling (5 minutes into the climb)
Diagrams illustraing the construction of The Saint Paul.
15 minutes later, we arrived the HALF WAY POINT to where the scaffolding spanned across the balconies.
Philip: "I thought we were already at the top!"
Not quite, my brother!
Another 5 minutes took us Stone Gallery, where we could circle around the cathedral outside... |
Rainy Foggy Cold London.
Philip: "Why did we bother to come outside, where it is miserable...?"
The final climb, 20 minutes more to the top |
Notice how Philip is not smiling anymore, haha...
The last steps...? We don't even know how much more we have to climb anymore...
| |
I am sure the sights would be a lot better if it wasn't for the fog
Yippee - now another 40 minutes down! |
You convinced me into doing this - I'll get you back later!
